CLOUD CUCKOO WHITE

Cloud Cuckoo Land Fiano Zibibbo

Riverland
Cloud Cuckoo Land is an imaginary state of absurd over optimism – something that we at Wild & Wilder are often accused of. Indeed, not so long ago, if we’d said that we wanted to make high quality, low intervention wines made from Mediterranean varieties in the Riverland, Cloud Cuckoo land is exactly where people would have said that we lived! But, we believe that anything is possible if you don’t see the obstacles, you challenge the “received wisdom” and resist the naysayers. Cloud Cuckoo Land is for everyone who feels the same.

Tasting
An enticing Mediterranean blend Fiano and Zibibbo (Muscat).

A vibrant, textural white with hints of almond blossom, quince and ripe pear. Tangy, almost exotic but pithy and delicious.

80% Fiano, 20% Zibibbo (Muscat)

Suitable for vegetarians and vegans.

'...there’s lots of pleasure here. Drink it this summer.'

Erin Larkin, Robert Parkers Wine Advocate

'Such fun, and lovely to drink. Beautifully turned out.'

'45%/41%/14% greco/fiano/zibbibo constitute an idiosyncratic and playful blend, drawing on deep Mediterranean roots. Sourced from the Riverland, a bastion of industrial wine, this is exemplary, versatile and delicious. Grape spice, orange blossom, citrus and pistachio.'

Viticulture
Fiano is trellised, while the Zibibbo is old, bush trained vines which have been put on a trellis latterly.

Winemaking
Hand-picked before gentle de-stemming and crushing. Fiano is settled and cool fermented while the Zibibbo sits on skins for 24 hours prior to fermentation. Blending of the two varieties post primary fermented and ageing on lees in tank.
